ABSTRACT

Teachers who work in educational establishments either as classroom teachers or in management positions and who are also studying for a postgraduate degree must make an additional effort to perform in all roles; This, added to the changes required as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Chile, I urge you to deploy adaptation strategies to this new scenario; Therefore, this article aims to characterize the lifestyle of professors who take a Postgraduate course in universities in central and southern Chile, during the COVID-19 pandemic period. The survey was used as a research technique through the FANTASTIC questionnaire. The study population was 69 professors, who during the year 2021 were studying a Postgraduate degree at Chilean universities, in the Ñuble, Bio-Bio, O'Higgins, La Araucanía, Los Ríos and Los Lagos regions. The main findings indicate that according to the score obtained in the FANTASTIC questionnaire the percentage distribution that characterizes the lifestyle of the study subjects is over 50%, for indicators associated with a lifestyle considered adequate. 40.6% "Good job, you are on the right track" and 15.9% "Adequate, you are fine", however, it was found that 34.8% obtain "Somewhat low, you could improve" evidencing that the group studied, in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, maintains a lifestyle that is within acceptable ranges. © 2023 Federacion Espanola de Docentes de Educacion Fisica. ABSTRACT

This paper aims to make a proposal for the introduction of information and communication technologies in Spanish prisons, for which existing experiences in our country have been reviewed, as well as in others where the state of the question is more advanced. To this end, in the first place, the current meaning of social reinsertion is analysed;secondly, different prison areas where technologies could play a key role for the purpose of social reinsertion are treated in this research;thirdly, the risks that such implementation would generate are presented;and, fourthly, the aforementioned proposal is made, taking into consideration all the above. This constitutes a topic of great importance, if we consider when our prison regulations date and how social reality has evolved since then, being this increasingly digitized, even more since the arrival of COVID-19. Reducing contact with prison's subculture by fostering a closer relationship to the outside world would allow for better social reinsertion and would mean a way of humanization of prisons in the twenty-first century.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Social distancing and quarantine have proven to have negative effects on the mental health of populations, namely fear, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Resilience emerges as a buffering variable for such impact. The objective of this study was to compare the psychological impact of COVID-19 in several Latin American countries. Method: a sample of 1184 participants from Mexico, Cuba, Chile, Colombia and Guatemala was obtained;whose age ranged from 18 to 83 years old (M = 38.78, SD = 13.81). A survey on medical symptoms associated with COVID-19 and three instruments to evaluate: (1) depression, anxiety and stress, (2) impact of the event and (3) resilience were administered. Results: Younger people, with more symptoms associated with COVID-19 and those who reported higher scores of impact of event tended to present greater depressive, anxious and stress symptomatology. The impact of the event was the most determinant predictor. Resilience was protective against the impact of event, depression, anxiety and stress. Conclusions: The results show the differences in the psychological response to COVID-19 in each country and suggesting the need to develop public policies focused on prevention and promotion of integral health when facing sanitary emergencies.
